for the past six days i was playing in the windy city. it was a lot of fun but the sales tax there was not fun at all. it is at 10%. damn son T_T let's recap my trip in a nutshell!
night one:
got to the airport after 11 hours of flying and layovers. waited forever for leon them to get me. the train we were on was GHETTO. it stank cuz homeless people were on it to sleep and etc. after finally getting to leon's area, we had to walk about five blocks in the freezing cold to his apartment. ate leftover chicken and passed out.
day one:
slept in. olivia slept between two chairs and i slept on the couch. that morning we didn't leave the living room until 11 am and we woke up around 8:30. so lazy lol. we ate lunch at potbelly's and it was yummy. afterwards we went to a conservatory. it was all about plants and that was pretty cool. so many types of plants and it was all free! i hated how every other room was cold or humid. yuck! hit up chinatown afterwards. their chinatown was small but i loved how they had so many asian things! i wish our chinatown was that cool. idk, it's just all your typical asian things could be found everywhere. went back to the apartment and ate deep dish pizza for the first time :)
day two:
we went to the zoo! it was free too!! i loved this zoo. it was huge for a zoo in a park. so many animals for all over! after that, we went to the barn. went there and it was stinky! the only cool thing there was there was a chick hatchery kinda. saw a chick that was only a few minutes old. cutie :P checked into our hotel that night as well. ate my chipotle and it was delicious. i've never been happier eating food...EVER. did some shopping at the biggest forever 21 and trader joe's.
day three:
shopped, shopped, shopped!!! omg! after a LONG day of shopping, we went to the mary poppin's broadway musical. it was awesome! kinda kiddie but still fun. i was so tired from earlier that i was falling asleep during the first ten minutes @_@. after the show, we were all hungry. unfortunately, so many places are closed early so we resorted to the grand lux cafe. sounds fancy huh? it's actually a cheesecake factory part two. haha, pretty cool.
day four:
kevin and i woke up early to eat breakfast at yolk. they were some tricky people! every table has coffee mugs and a lady came over asking if we wanted some coffee like it was water. i said ok and kevin got a cup later. when it was time to pay our bill, they charged us $5 for the two cups. sneaky mofos! shopped some more later. at the water tower place, there was a macy with EIGHT stories. on the side of the macy's, in the same building, are about seven stories of mall stores. it was a crazy ass mall but olivia and i loved it! we went to millenium park with the bean. it was cool to see. after an hour at the park, we went to the chicago art institute. that museum was freakin huge! it was so cool to see so many original art pieces by van gogh and monet. other pieces made famous by TV or whatevers, i did not expect them to be in chicago but they were. after the museum, leon met up with us for dinner. had my first taste of kobe beef in form of a burger. it was soooo good!
day five:
unfortunately, our last real day. headed to check out leon's school. their student center was AMAZING. definitely made the trip to IIT lol. ate dim sum, went back to chinatown for fortune cookies and whatever random things. afterwards, olivia and i went to old town. it was so historic and quiant. she bought a bunch of spices and i got a cupcake from the area. i bought some freeze dried corn but i left it on my plane back to hawaii -_-. i ate my last chipotle tacos...it was a sad moment. kevin should know. went to grand lux with everyone and leon for dinner. ate SO much food. goodness, i spent over $50 on food on friday.
day six:
i almost missed my flight haha. leon came a little later to take me to the trains but i wasn't worried since he said it would only take me about 45 minutes. chyeah....the blue line train took forever and i was freaking out. my flight was at 12:11 pm and i didn't get to the airport until 11:38 am. i had to run from the train with my bags to check in and to my gate. i sat down on the plane huffing and puffing. good times.
chicago was fun. definitely worth visiting but it's true that it does get a little boring after awhile. i wish we went during the summer time so more things would be around like the boat cruise. i had a great time and i would definitely go back again :D now back to school, noooo!

is this what hell feels like??
nah, i've gone through worst. this is crunch week and i am sick as a mofo. well, not THAT sick but sick is still bad since i got choke midterms. i hope this gets better before my trip cuz i do NOT wanna catch a flu in chicago, imma be so miserable. two midterms down, two more to go and as well as a monologue presentation and paper. lovely. why do i get sick so damn much? where has my immune system gone? i haven't gotten sick in a really long time and all of the sudden i've been getting sick every month. frick.
oh, and i lost my USA Funds scholarship. $1500 down the drain, sigh. i forgot they needed ALL my transcripts for the four colleges i've attended. by the time i found out, i couldn't get KCC, HCC, and UNLV's transcripts postmarked in time. sigh, such easy money. hopefully it could be a good thing so i won't get taxed so much next year :/

singing your feelings away
this past saturday was a lot of fun. a bunch of us went to shabu shabu and had a good time. i think sweet home cafe has become my favorite restaurant. after dinner, we decided to sing karaoke! went to this korean karaoke place next to sorabol. it was pretty cheap, $30 an hour and we had eight people. we had SO much fun that we stayed for two hours. they had those tambourines so jared and i had a field day with it haha. the karaoke place kinda sucked since after we paid our money, like the money is on the table and ready to go, she said there is a 15% service charge that she didn't add on. ooook wtf shoulda said something earlier! somehow we ended up with $2 leftover and jared taught us how to play body jang kang po. it was stupid lol.
it was only like 10:30 or 11 and had nothing better to do. good job for sunny who wanted to drink and that is what we did! went to lane's house where we all became psycho people for each other's problems. gina tweaked on winterbells. 14 million points??? seriously now haha. it was fun.
sunday for work was so slow. sucked balls. work just suck balls in general. got my chinese oral midterm in a few hours. cannot wait, NOT. fml

tsukiji
saturday at work was bullshit. it sucked and i made no money. i hate how there is a new percentage in tips for everyone else so in the end what i do really isn't worth it. who am i to complain, i don't have any bills to pay or anything, at least not really, but it still sucks.
later on that night, i went to eat tan tan ramen with gina and sunny. it was a good dinner at goma ichi but i think i still like goma tei better :P after dinner we went to starbucks to chill until sunny had to go. jared and lane came by and we just talked stories til my coworker got there. went to gyukaku with coworkers where i ate more food, damn. it was really good but good thing i ate so i didn't have to spend so much money. didn't know they wanted to go club or else i would've been better prepared...
so we got to ala moana to head to tsukiji's and i hate that i can't wear what i have in my car nicely. since i needed to get in before 1130, i decided to bail since i don't wanna go in wearing a dress over my jeans -_-. but after a few minutes later i just decided to wear my top and jeans in with my sexy heels. buuuut since i was late, it took me almost an hour to get in! i have a feeling tsukiji will be the next xyloh, i saw a few people younger than me in there. well, maybe not since it's at a mall and they're pretty strict. whichever the case, it was fun to be with a different crowd. free drinks for me! hehe. can't wait til i turn 21 though. seven more grueling months T_T

irony
i saw a man holding a pair of crutches running for the bus. he was holding a bunch of grocery bags and the lady with him was holding bags as well trying to keep up. now that was ironic.
i feel like reflecting on some things going through my mind these past few days. i've read a few of that 25 facts thingy going around facebook and so many of them say "i put other people's happiness before mine" or somewhere along those lines. seems like a selfless act right? but how about those who are the opposite? what about those who realize that they are more important than their peers in terms of feelings? does that make them selfish?? i'm sick of being a people pleaser. i can recall an experience but it seems like no matter how much i try to make that one person happy, it always seem to fail. oh wells. i tried :)
i wonder if i don't call anyone, would people just forget i exist? i barely get any phone calls from people to do anything. no no, i don't wanna think any further or else i would get depressed. gotta take initiative to get anything done these days :/
readers, think deep about me. do you feel like i'm usually an attention hog?? i sometimes feel that way when i'm with people. but as of recently, i've been getting a lot of attention, in a good way! unfortunately, it's too overwhelming for me. how ironic as well! is this what it feels like to be with someone and happy at the same time?? so different from what i'm used to since i'm used to getting the shaft from guys. blehhh.
it is time for change. i'm starting my makeover sesh today. eyebrows and hair gonna get done by this afternoon :)
PS: i believe that neosporin cures all. i use it for everything.

putt putt golf
yesterday i was really excited to spend some time with the girls, yay! a bunch of us went to waipuna sushi. after much debate, we decided to get a party platter of a million pieces of spicy ahi/salmon, whatever else nigiri. check sunny's blog to see a pic of it. four of us finished it and it was so much fish...ack! afterwards we went to windward mall to play some glow putt! good call for that cuz it was a lot of fun! we all had our moments lol. *coughallyshouldajoininnexttimecough* after an hour of mini golfing, sunny, mel and gina had their first taste of hot dog on a stick lemonade! its the greatest thing EVER! after that i had to go home since work was gonna start soon.
